The NSN Pre-Conference workshop

The NSN Pre-Conference workshop

31st July 2022

The new era of Neuroscience Research and Innovation is centered around big, complex and multifunctional data (from a variety of species) generated via a number of approaches and strategies. These data are increasingly made Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR).

However, African Neuroscience data are missing in the global ecosystem of available Neuroscience data.  Important aspects of FAIR are the collection, processing, application, use and sharing of data.

This workshop explores the barriers to FAIR in Africa and also the opportunities big data presents for researchers in Africa including data science, standards and funding. There will also be a practical session on how to use cloud computing technologies for Neuroscience Research and Education.

This workshop is free and will be in a Hybrid format. It is scheduled to hold at 1-4pm West African Standard Time on the 31st July as a Pre-Conference workshop of the NSN Conference.

It will be holding at Sumbomi Balogun Conference Center, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

The hosts/facilitators for the workshop are Dr Damian Eke from the European Human Brain Project, De Morfort University, Uk and Dr Eberechi Wogu from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
